A children's book that helps kids understand and explore multiculturalism through different flavors of cupcakes.The book teaches children about the importance of respecting people with backgrounds and looks different from their own, while promoting openness to diversity.

The author, Ansaba Gavor, was born in Providence, Rhode Island, to Ghanaian parents. Born into a culture different from her parents' native homeland, she was faced with juggling the Ghanaian values of her parents and the American values of her peers. Now a mother herself, raising her daughter in a bicultural manner, she was inspired to write her first children's book, Children Are Like Cupcakes, to encourage her daughter and all children to be comfortable with their own uniqueness.
